Grandpa Nash’s Funeral

Grandpa’s funeral was on October 23, 2010
This was a very hard day for me, because I hadn’t lost some close to me since I was 12 years old. When you are young you don’t understand it as you do as an adult. So I had a really hard time. My Grandma asked me to be in charge of all the Grandkids to sing a song so I choose Be Still Me Soul. I was fine singing the song until I looked down at my mom and saw her crying and then I couldn’t help but to cry.
The last song sung was God Be With You Till We Met Again. I just balled thro the song will the rest of the family laughed thru it. You see My Aunt and Uncle up words to it and named it Bob be with you till we eat again. And they sang it to him at the family reunion in July. I couldn’t be at the reunion so I hadn’t heard it. But heard the song a few week later and could understand why they wasn’t sad while we were singing it.
At the cemetery it just pouring rain. So we didn’t stay long. The funeral was in American Fork and he was buried in the Salem Cemetery, then the lunch-in was back in American fork. This was a very long and emotional day. Gone by 8:00am home after 8:00pm.
